Immanuel College is set in the grounds of Caldecote Tower, a grand grade ii listed Victorian structure and former private mansion now college class rooms and library. Our work over the years has seen us create a master plan to set out the medium and long term use of the site for maximum benefit, taking account of the historic setting and allowing the school to take advantage of the current and planned new facilities. Our long term, multi disciplinary approach has ensured the practice has secured many planning permissions for the College over the past 9 years ranging from an art classroom, dining hall extension, adventure play spaces for the preparatory school and medical room extension.

Our long term commission ensures work covers a variety of scales and enables a succession of projects to culminate in a holistic planned phasing of works. Planning permission secured for a surface car park extension (28 spaces), with associated drawings, a planning and green belt statement and subsequently tender drawings for the contractor; are considered as part of the long-term projection for the site rather than a stand alone project. Recently for example, our associates have surveyed and recorded in detail the plan and elevations of the existing listed structure, to accompany Listed Building Applications and maintenance reports. Associated with other aspects of the site, our proposed new dining hall extension was constructed in the summer of 2017, a project in which we worked closely with renowned heritage and build organisations to ensure a successful outcome.

Ensuring the complex of structures across the site are working together efficiently, we secured planning permission for a classroom pavilion (formerly a sports building not implemented) to provide teaching and social spaces for the students. Our works included building regulation drawings.
