A complex proposal involving a Planning Application and Listed Building Consent for the renovation and improvement of the former Mill, this project set out to preserve the character of the site while improving the condition of a heritage asset.

The Mill is attached to a grade ii Listed Building (main dwelling) and required permissions for works in its curtilage as well as internally. Many of the former internal alterations carried out over the years, including windows repairs, floors repairs and replacement of window casements and joinery where sympathetically treated in the renovation and have resulted in the sensitive improvement of a much-loved structure. The outcome has been a substantial renovation of the Mill which is subtle and has retained the original external character with sensitive improvements to a Heritage asset.

Works included a high-quality residential annexe for the clients. This proposal included Listed Building Consent and subsequent planning permission for the change of use of the Mill subject to an Environment Agency permit for the in “situ” eco sewerage system. Planning permission was also secured for a triple barn style garage (Not as yet constructed). Works to the mill are now complete.
